Baker Barrios was awarded a National Telly award for the firm’s hotel and resort portfolio feature on The Alfond Inn — a $32.5-million Preferred Boutique Hotel designed by Baker Barrios. The firm completed the architecture, interior design, planning, and landscape architecture for the 112-room property which celebrates its one-year anniversary this August.
“We pride ourselves on our ability to design world-class hotels and resorts that create powerful customer connections,” said Shanon Larimer, Principal of Baker Barrios’ Brand Strategy and Communications Group. “Our portfolio reel for The Alfond Inn not only showcases the incredible talents of our design studios but it also demonstrates our marketing team’s capabilities in digital content.”
The Alfond Inn recently earned a four-diamond rating from AAA auto and travel club – the second-highest rating given to hotels. In addition, the boutique hotel is currently under review for LEED certification.
Owned by Rollins College, a private coeducational liberal arts college, The Alfond Inn was built with a $12.5-million grant from the Harold Alfond Foundation. The hotel is adorned with fine-art from around the world and includes a glass-domed conservatory, lush courtyards, the popular Hamilton’s Kitchen restaurant, a pool and fitness center, and 10,000 square feet of flexible meeting and convention space.
