The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts has become one of Central Florida’s premiere entertainment venues, hosting acclaimed acts from every category and contributing to the area’s cultural capital. Since opening its doors to the public, it has been named one of Travel & Leisure’s “Top 25 New Tourist Attractions Worth Adding to Your Bucket List,” and among Southern Living’s “50 Best Places in the South Now.”
The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts is home to three separate theatres and several purposeful spaces for guests to enjoy all the Center has to offer. Baker Barrios contributed as Associate Architect for the 1,741-seat Steinmetz Hall, which has achieved widespread praise for its advanced design from other architects and performers alike.
Steinmetz Hall is one of the few theaters to receive an NI sound rating, the lowest level at which humans can detect sound. It is similarly distinct for its ability to transform in shape, seating, and sound, accommodating a variety of events with or without amplification.
